A couple of comments on this and that.
1. RE" While talking with Drew he told me there was a 25% harvest rate at willard last year."
Does this mean that only 25% of walleyes caught were kept OR does it mean that only 25% of walleyes in the lake of harvestable size were harvested in the past year? The former seems hard to believe, the latter is very believable. It is an important point in evaluating the statistic.
2.RE " I just find it hard to understand the news of the inlet opening this year on this site or any other form of media for that matter, has spread like Wildfire. Yet last year when a proposal of this magnitude(Fundimental change in regulations for a perticular water) was suggested...not a peep."
I will agree with you that the DWR might have done better in letting people know about this and that the issue should have been in the 2012 angler survey. However, at what point do the anglers take responsibility too? As has been previously stated, Tube Dude posted information on BFT prior to the RAC's that this would happen. I myself knew about it at some point between the RACs and the Wildlife board meeting. But as usual, TD's posting got zero responses and was viewed far less than the average post by some Joe six pack catching 2 cookie cutter cats at Utah lake. A lot of guys on BFT love Willard. One would think that at least one person would bother to look at the proposed RAC reg changes and spread the word that such a change was planned. But as usual for anglers, (unlike hunters, who carefully check eveything) most of them don't really give a *#%& but love to complain about things later.
