I bet that those came from the stocking that happened in 1985 or maybe even a wash out maybe from Mctucker ponds.
The catfish population upstream and including CJ strike is not what I would consider a reasonable option for fishing for channel cats. I know there are a few in Strike, and yes they are in Milner all the way up to minadoka dam. Anything above that would be like another thread called fishing for unicorns. The population is so small due to a lack of natural recruitment, and the amount of water is so huge the chance of actually finding them is slim to none but not totally impossible. That is not the kind of odds I would find acceptable with gas prices the way they are. Like I said before I would rather spend two or three even 4 hours driving west than drive 50 minutes east. It is that big of a waste of time for me.
While my first post may not be "true" in the sense that it is possible a cat might be above Minadoka Dam. I am willing to bet that no one will actually catch any above Minadoka dam this year. If someone does they better buy a lotto ticket before their luck runs out. Ron
