I was actually just about to post a report for The Blacksmith. I didn't fish the little reservoir, but I did see quite a few fish sipping midges as I drove past. I'll just make this my report and keep it short. I broke out the 3wt and fished a dry/dropper most of the day as I prefer it to using an indicator in the shallow pocket water that is so abundant there. I did use an indicator a couple of times on some longer, deep runs though. Standard nymphs should work fine. I was using one I made up that is sort of a hare's ear/prince/pheasant tail hybrid. Just make sure you are using tungsten to get them down fast. There are a lot of tricky currents in that stream and the tungsten helps get your fly down better. I caught 21 small browns, [inline "brown 2 small.jpg"]

4 whitefish,

3 small cutthroat, and to my surprise, a feisty little cuttbow that jumped numerous times.

I'd never caught one there before, but it had an orange slash (though fainter than on a straight cutt), and it sure looked and acted rainbowish.
Most of the fish took the dropper, but quite a few munched the big attractor, much to my surprise. More of them refused it than ate it of course, but that was to be expected this early in the season. I did see some midges coming off (though no fish rising to them). I probably should have broken out some tiny midge dries, but I hadn't brought my 6x and just wasn't much in the mood for that anyway.
It wasn't the most incredible trip ever, but it was a gorgeous day, and those little buggers were still fun on a 3wt (especially the whitefish).
