It as a pleasure to meet you and your friends on Monday. Since most ice fishermen are crazy, it's good to be crazy together. Like [#0000bf]TD[/#0000bf] mentioned, it's too bad the day you picked to give Starvation the first try ended up like fishing in the Dead Sea.
When we left Indian Bay we drove around to Rabbit Gulch and tried that until a little after 5:00 p.m.. We caught some rainbows but the perch were not anywhere we could find them. The late ice cover that is now extending ever closer to the perch spawning could be the reason the fish aren't cooperating. [#0000bf]TD[/#0000bf] mentioned this as a possibility. He may very well be on to something and it makes as much common sense as any other excuse we could come up with.
It certainly can't be that we are just not good enough to catch the yellow-barred demons. I think I'm going to punish myself one more time this season and give it a go tomorrow morning if I can find someone else just as crazy. I'd rather not go alone because it isn't a safe plan of action when late season conditions can make it less safe out there. I hope Wyoguy will join me and we will make sure the perch season is really, really, really, really over, or not.
