Seattle Times announced that preliminary forecasts show good increases in chinook, coho, and pinks for the Columbia and Olympic Peninsula. King fishing has been off the hook, no pun intended, so far this season. There have been several derbies in the Seattle area and Canada, and in each case they have doubled the results from previous years. There is a huge number of pinks arriving this year, since they arrive on odd-numered years, and lately several million more arrive each time. It wasn't so long ago that they were predicting numbers in the hundreds of thousands, and now they talk about 9 million fish showing. A great experience for kids and adults alike, especially with the expanded limit of 4 pinks. Better make reservations now!! Mike
