Starvation Perch Video Feb 23
#4
What a great toy you got there! I'm jelly. Would love to have a camera. I think one could learn a great deal by using one.

Puzzling they weren't eating. I bet you did, but I would have dropped a half worm right on the bottom and left it, the way those guys were so stubborn

BTW, I finally got around to trying a dropshot for perch at Pineview this year. I get tired of tiny lures taking forever to sink, and trying to make sure I'm right close to the bottom. I tied one of those pear-shaped sinkers right on the end of my line and added a tiny teardrop jig maybe 7" up on a very short side dropper, less than an inch. Then I hooked maybe 1/3 nightcrawler through the.middle, "wacky" style. That caught fish, so I tried a section of power worm, the little skinny ones in the jar, and that worked great, and so I tried a Gulp minnow, a tiny one, and that worked, and so did a waxie through the head and a perch eye. So, yeah, they were already biting, but I liked being able to be sure.I was on the bottom and then just sort of shiver and bounce my line, making the bait twitch in place and not have to make big bounces while jigging.

I'll try it on fussy perch sometime.=D, maybe another tool in the box.
