what I use for a reel is a shimano quick fire II

it is not an ultra light but I can put 4-8 lb test line on it comfortablty.
I transfer the reels from this rod to my ice fishing rods in the winter, I have 2 of them and they both are year round rods.
I realy like this reel because it has the quick fire casting trigger, rear drag and the battle drag leaver. Ya that is a lot for one little reel but well worth it.
you may have to get on ebay to find one of these reels, I have not seen them in the stores in years.
the rod I have in the photo is one I picked up 35 years ago for my back pack when my mode of transportation was a 2 wheeler. "motorless"[:p]
