Help needed, ice fishing in the Boise area

My son moved up to Idaho last year and is trying to learn some places to ice fish in the Boise area, can any of you give him some ideas of where to try, within an hour drive? He drove three hours to fish last week but was hoping to find somewhere closer. He fished the local area all summer but he said those lakes have not frozen yet. Any help would be great, thanks.
