Chesterfield ice tourney.
#63
In the long run I really don't care where the extra money goes. If it goes to a charity, kids, F&G that would be a plus. People put on tournaments all the time and make money.

I do ice fish Chesterfield several times a year. BTW the approx. 55,000 stockers can keep you busy.

I would love to fish the tourny as though it was any other non-tournament day, within the rules, laws, proclamations, guidelines, regulations...that are applicable to the state of Idaho. If there is a chance to get a little something at the end of the day all the better.

As for the fish population in Chesterfield I feel that as the reservoir gets lower the fish will congregate more therefore less food. I would also have to question the oxygen levels under the ice as the res gets smaller and stays ice covered for the winter. I think taking a few extra fish may help a larger majority survive the winter. Just my opinion because I'm definately not an expert.

As for catch and release, 99% of the time I never keep fish. If it's worthy of a photo I get it done and get the fish back in the water asap. If it's a tournament fish (very rare) I make sure it goes where I know it will end up in the frying pan.

I hope the tournament goes well and they have a good turnout. I'm still Undecided at this point.
