Chesterfield ice tourney.
#23
I know its not just the tourney but mix of all of them you said as well. Ive been to allot of them tourney days as a by stander and about 60% of the people I see are people that have joined in hopes of winning and not the sport. For example last years devil creek tourney I went to watch and talk. And most people I had talked with have only ice fished a couple times, and others was there first time, last years Chester tourney 17 people I had talked with had never been on the ice, they said they were doing it because it seemed easy to win. 3 of the people I talked with said that they had only been fishing for less than a year, and picked it up to catch and take. Im by no means against fishing for your limit to take and eat. Heck I even will keep a few here and there. Chester has turned into more of a put and take in recent years. Sure there are still some real nice fish in there and that is because they are a majority kamloops and grow very very fast. The F&G say the 10/12 inch fish they stock are expected to grow to 18 inches by the next year and be 20+ by the end of the following year. You will notice allot of football shaped fish from 13/16 inches this year.
