Also add July and August as it is a shallow lake mix with the hottest months of the year. But, what is more fatal, landing a fish in the heat of summer in a net and leaving it in the water till you release, or pulling a trout through a hole in the ice to frigid temps. The handling with gloves wiping off protective slime, bouncing on the ice a few times till released. I also wonder in the extreme cold days, their eyes exposed to the freezing air.
It is a blood sport though.[
