I helped IDFG capture and then collect eggs and milt from the Henrys lake cutts at Hatchery creek three years ago before Damon left. Saw plenty of cutts over 24" Be careful before you claim anything is clearly a cutthroat or a hybrid. I never said the fish in the pic is a cutt nor did I name the picture. It does look an awful lot like a cutt to me. The year I worked the Hatchery the largest cutt that came back to spawn was 29" and we saw lots of cutts over 24". Most were the typical clone size we all catch when we fish the lake but there were some huge cutthroat in the pens there and claiming you can tell for certain just by a picture is a little ridiculous. IDFG had a hard time identifying some fish while I was there.
The fish in the pic is probably a Hybrid but don't be so sure it has a lot of cutthroat indicators. What Hybrid indicators are there that I'm missing? Don't see white fin tips.

Go talk to IDFG. I really don't beleive they bold face lie to the angling community and falsify data. They might stretch the truth in order to keep their jobs but their data is pretty solid compared to our observations.
I do appreciate everyone s opinions. I just get pretty excited when people blame ice fishing for anything. It really appears like it doesn't hurt the lake or the size of fish and its a lot of fun. If they blame ice fishing without data to back it up and shut the lake down after Nov I'm gonna freakin loose it!!!!
