Ok I have done my research so I can reply with an educated answer. Out of the 48 states where crappie are present 42 of them have creel limits on crappie and most have a size limit as well. Most are state wide regulations and some are by body of water. Also I never said that the regulations from the midwest guaranteed "big" fish. It did however manage the crappie population so there was alot better chance that there would be a harvestable population. Not like CJ where it seems to be a feast or famine situation. I also think it is just ridiculous that IDFG stocks nothing but trout in CJ Strike every year. My reasoning behind that is the number of people i see fishing CJ and that it seems 90% of them are going for some sort of a warm water species.
