oh one more thing that article you posted was before the introduction of the gizzard shad into the lake.
if i could find the article, they predict that lake mead will give up a new lake record in the near future.
BIGGER BAIT = BIGGER FISH.
If you go to where I troll, you will always see tons and TONS of bait balls on the fish finder. that tells me there is plenty of food in the lake.
maybe not on the end of the lake most people seems to go to because they don't want to take the trek the extra 30 minutes up north, but I bet you could find them down near boulder beach area they are there also.
