Are you walking in or have a boat? With the water starting to freeze up if you can find some flows where the water is entering a pond or moving from one pond to the other you should do pretty well. Some times the best thing to do is drive around and watch (good pair of binoculars help) where the birds are landing and work your way to that spot. The birds will fly off but more will be in. [
