Fising using bobbers and floats.

When I first started getting my own setups, I started with a cheep telocopic rod and a medium priced open face spinning reel.

that was 30+ years ago, well I still have the three telocopic rods, with minor repairs and I have replaced the reels once on each. My rods cost me 2.30 each. today they run about 17.00+

I liked this setup because I can grab my box and go. and maybe pick up a can of worms.

as to lures, its to each his own boyz... but there are a few that are almost sure fire. mephs spinners, rooster tails, jitterbugs, rapellas. Start with the basic colors, red black brown yellow silver and white. you can go wattermellon if you like.

the same goes true with soft plastics as well. Just for starts. once you get going you will see what works best in your area.
