Yep. If you use the top two sections of a 3 pc 9 foot 6wt bamboo, thinking you will end up with a 4wt stream rod, you will be wrong.
I like the new glass line up of cabelas...the old ones were equally good but I hate green colored glass rods. The new line up takes on a more retro look...reminding me distantly of early fenwicks. The new Cabelas 6'2" 2wt looks like it would make an ideal tight quarter brookie rod...good in close yet still capable of making decent roll casts.
I picked up a Redington Classic Trout 7'6" 2wt on closeout for 90 bucks (I over line with a WF 3 to aid in close cast loading) and it stays in my car. I've used in on most of this years small stream fishing around the region. For a carbon rod, it is slow enough for tiny flies, yet still enough punch for canyon breezes.
