think I found my new small stream fly rod.

Unfortunately, many think taking an old 9' or so Bamboo and using part off the tip portion of the rod adding a reel seat and cork makes it a Banty. This is not the case. The flex is all wrong.
Banty is a short rod not a "shortened" rod, built that way from the start as a rod should perform from tip to butt. Not saying yours is not a true Banty. Orvis made a sweet one.
I found a sweet 6'6" 4 wt glass at Cabela's for $60. It can roll cast at least 30 feet. One might be lucky to find more of the first generation. The new models are fantastic but a bit more money

It is possible to make anything work. Heck you could attach line to a broom stick or better yet an old CB radio antenna.
It all comes down to what works for one. I like it light and easy[Smile] But accurate as heck[cool]
