That "in possession" part regarding the limit of fish has been in effect and enforced since the early '50's that I know of. I used to go out with the White Pine County warden a lot back then and distinctly recall a serious confrontation he had on Baker Creek one time. There was a group of local fishermen from the Ely area that had ridden horseback into Baker Lake and camped overnight. We just happened on them as they were loading up to come home. When Bob checked their fish, a couple of the guys had over 15 fish which was the limit then. They explained that they had caught some of them the day before. Bob explained the limit was 15 daily or in possession so he cited them. They got madder than he--. I remember one guy screaming something about the limit being 25 just a year or so before so why was he being so chickensh-- about a few fish.
