		steelhead you can target all the way though December if you can stand the cold. Then guys will be right back on them again in March.
 
There are guys who will target steelhead in January at stoney creek park on the east side of the state on a nice winter day.
 
There is quite a number of guys who fish for steelhead salmon though the ice in Catallac. "the lake"
 
So basicly if it is a nice day and the season is open, there are oppertunites available to catch a salmon.
 
A lot of guys love to hit the salmon runs because they want to stock up... I have seen salmom sized walleye come out of those rivers during the same time salmon are in full run and when they are not.
 
to answer your question, it is always best to call a local tackle shop in the area if your intrests is only hitting the main runs.
