Fishing has been hit and miss on the confluence in Lewiston / Idaho. The best fishing seems to be early morning (6:30-8:30), but anglers have been picking them up at night as well. There are definitely less fish than most years but the Clearwater is usually great from September through December. A ton of salmon are also being caught, so don't be surprised to get more of those (especially Jacks), than steelhead. The upper Clearwater is still a bit slow and will probably be that way until we get some rain... but when we do, look out! As far as planning a trip, watch the river flows and read the expert and angler reports.
