I need to replace a redington rod my buddy loaned me, because I lost the rod tip somewhere in the Uintas. After replacing his, I wanted to get a nice setup for myself.
I would like a versatile rod that can be used on small rivers as well as lake fishing for trout and panfish. I am thinking of getting a 9' 5 wt. and getting a reel with a few spare spools for switching out line type.
I have no idea where to go with the reel, but I was interested in the TFO professional series. Does anyone have experience with these rods, and if so do they make a rod that a beginner can grow into? I am also curious if any of you have owned a TFO signature series rod and what is your opinion on those?
