[cool] That is so true Dave. I have been to places where there are planter trout that are accustomed to just one color. Once you practice catch and release a few times you will notice that the fish will also associate a color with a bad experience. Therefore your orange glitter that was so attractive at one point will be a red flag for them on the next go around.
Other fish may still hit on it but cautiously because they see the ones in there that have had the bad experience. Therefore the amount of different colors can be necessary in certain areas.
