Ely Area Report
#1
Cave Lake - Fishing is fair to slow on the fly, I caught about 7 rainbows in 4 hours. Brown Wooly Buggers is what they were hitting. People were catching some sporadically as I passed in my float tube.

Comins Lake - Fishing is slow, but there are pike to be had. I Landed 3 and only had 6 bites. Lots of weeds and the fish are in them. I used the classic Red & white dare devil spoon.

Illipah Lake - Fishing is fantastic. I had a 50+ Fish day on the fly. I used a Elk Hair Caddis with a Scud underneath. The fish were in 1 1/2 - 4 foot of water. I caught fish on both flies. Shore anglers using bait limited out quickly. Boat anglers caught fish after fish. I don't know if it matters too much what you throw. Crawfish are everywhere. I caught a few and cooked them up.

Ruby Lake - Fished the Artifical flies and lures only section and caught a tons of fish before 10 am and then it just died. I was using a Copper John and Scud combo.

I only took one because my hydrophilic phone found some dihydrogen monoxide (H2O).

The Picture is of Sir Pike - Duke of Ely who may or not have been assassinated. Who knows?
