making my own lures need some tips.
#1
Ive decided to give a try at making my own lures I carved out a basic shaped crank bait today out of apple wood seems how I have 4 apple trees. I have plenty of wood. Any way ive got it carved and painted and a bill for it to dive. I used an old CD case to cut the bill from seemed to be a good thick plastic. Ive got the hooks now I just have yo figure out what to use to put the eyelets to watch the hooks and to tie onto. What is a good item to use? I was thinking of just clipping strait shank hooks and using one of them for the eye to tie onto. Any ideas? Reasoning behind making my own Is just because I feel the need to catch a fish on somthing I made and to see if I can do it.so far it floats up right like it should so im happy about that. And because I was limited to the nail polish my wife had laying around I went with an as close as I could get to a perch patern. Not perfect but its my first try. Ill post pics of what it looks like so far..
