1. If the water is smooth, you should be able to see them as you approach (as long as you are not going to fast).
2. If the water is choppy, look for a change in water color/clarity. That will be a sand bar. The water over the sand bars will be muddy from the choppy water.
3. Go slow until you learn the area you are boating in.
4. If you find a good sand bar, mark it on your GPS and send me the coordinates. I might want to ice fish around the edges....... [
