Not that any of this matters as you have it down, but generally in fly tying, you tie in material in the order you use it. Example on a bugger, you tie in tail, then rib (if you use it) then hackle, then chenille. It leaves the bend smaller because you are not over lapping. You can also tie in rib/wire at the bend then the hackle and chenille. Wrap the Chenille, up the hook, then tie hackle at the eye and wrap it to the bend then wrap the wire rib over it to the eye.
Also, when buying the wool, or Angora or Semi-Seal and it is on the string, I suggest pulling the fibers off the string and making your own dubbing loop. The string is way to thick.
And trying new patterns, I learned to just tie a couple at first and make sure they work. I have boxes full of experiments that didn't work[laugh][laugh][laugh]
