Dryer lint makes good dubbing, particularly if you sort your laundry by colors, you can get some great reds, blues, and greens, tans, and whites.

PS: There are not many on here who wouldn't send you some materials if you PM'd them. The fly fishers in particular are very generous to enthusiastic beginners. It's fun to remember how many dead critters I've scavenged for fur and feathers to tie whatever I could imagine at the time.
