Has anyone heard whether the NPS is still planning to reopen Overton Beach this Memorial Day Weekend?
The last I heard about a month ago, it was in the works if they could get the funding to reopen the water supply line. I've search the net but to no avail. I would like to be able to launch the kayak in that area for a change in venue. The fishing reports indicate that striper fishing is good in that area now. Not surprise since boat traffic is probably limited with the closest launch at Echo Bay.
