I agree, Dave. Granny low meant just that, slow enough that an elderly woman in a walker could move faster than you. Not today. My 2003 Chevy has a 4-wheel drive auto mode, meaning I push that button, it'll shift into 4-wheel drive on its own if it senses a lose of traction. Now where's the fun in that? Automatic shifting? Computers deciding when to shift?[:/] I liked them better when common sense was involved in the shifting decision and you had to stop, grab a shift lever and pull hard to engage.
