I agree with this, but if I'm tying buggers for Bass or for Cutts up at the Berry, I try to find a feather with a stiff vein. I'll put two together, but back to back. I've found that it gives much needed bulk and length without adding a bunch of material. It doesn't seem to affect the action of the marabou. Look at bass poppers and how they do the back to back of the feathers on the back -- that's pretty much what I do.
