im from texas but moving to utah havent started fly fishing but i guess you fish salt and brackish i can share a couple of my favorite spots to fish for slot and bull reds(specs too).

you will see some water ways when you zoom in on the map. i like to fish around here
if you head down to the very end of that road you will hit where moses lake mets the bay(good fishing there too).
another gem is in san leon, tx
bayshore park, san leon, tx google map it.
looking at the map on the left you will see the waterway go inland park at the park and walk under the bridge and go upstream. you can get some good reds there.
i also get my bait mullet and shrimp here mostly.
another place in galveston is seawolf park. usually good trout and flounder fishing here.
