I had a few hours yesterday afternoon so I decided to try my luck on the Provo. I had a few hits right when I arrived and landed two in the first 20-30 minutes. They were on red copper johns. After the second fish I decided to head up the river, I haven't fly fished very often and never in this spot so I wanted to see more of the river. After a while and very few hits it started to get windy and I started back to my original spot once I got there I caught two more and called it a day. Four total in two hours felt really good but I regret ever leaving my spot. Can't be sure it would have stayed hot the entire time but maybe next time I will try a little longer. I have heard it both ways that after a couple in a hole you should move on because they are probably spooked I also have heard stay where the fishing is hot. I'm curious to know what you guys think? How long should I stay in a hole if it's hot and how long if it's not? If I have had success earlier on a particular fly how long should I stay with it? I have been switching to the same pattern for both flies after I have caught a couple on one pattern. Is that the right thing to do or should I keep variety? Are there patterns that go to together better than others? Should I always have the bigger fly above the smaller? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry no pictures I got my camera wet last week and was not able to get it working again. Didn't want to risk using the phone. Probably going to have to get a water proof camera soon.
