If you decide to "get a little Frisky" in a public place (all public land is a public place), then it's your own fault if someone is spying on you, whether it's an officer or another hunter or a jogger or whatever. Personally, all the officers I've met in the field have been great. I've never been cited or warned because I always obey the law and safe practices. Usually I just sit and chat with them about the area, my intended hunt, or whatever. Often they don't even ask to see my license, probably because I'm so open and nice to them. I've even asked them if they wanted to see my license.
I was up daniel's canyon on the elk opener, but I was grouse hunting. We met an officer, and he didn't check us. He was just making sure the elk hunters were obeying the law. We had a good chat and went on our way. If they want to go undercover to catch those breaking the law -- all the better. I know that I have nothing to hide, and if you're obeying the law you shouldn't either. I don't hear anyone complaining about undercover cops doing drug sting operations (except maybe the drug dealers). The same applies here, I think. Just my 2 cents.
P.S. Everyone has had a great discussion here. For the most part everyone has respected other's viewpoints while voicing their own as well. Keep it up!
