This is a photo of a whitehorse sucker, it took second place in the largest caught for that species the year it was caught 2004. "they get twice this big"

This next one is a redhorse sucker
it has a golden redish tint to it scales.
this one was also caught by me in 2004
Redhorse suckers dont start running till the middle to the end of may sometimes they run through the end of july.

now as for them pesky carp, smart you ask? NO, just extreemly skiddish and easily spooked.

they like sweets, do make your doghball out of cerial of some kind. raisen bran with out the rasins or shredded wheat works well, dip a hand full in the watter and mash it till it becomes a dogh ball, then from it on the hook, cast out in to a hole and stake your pole well and loosen the drag so the carp can run with the line.

use 12-15lb test line and lots of it. reel-um in and they will run again, repeat the process till the carp stops running out. I have gotten as much as 8-10 runs out of a single carp.

This is a white Drum, sometimes called White Carp

and this one is a common carp

hope these photo help you to see the differances in the species.
