Family duty called me to Cedar City night before last, and on the way home yesterday afternoon I HAD to stop by my favorite bass lake.
It was totally overcast, no wind, mid 70 degrees...just perfect. I parked near my favorite place, and started walking the shallows. Right off the bat, nearly EVERY cast was a 2-3 pound bass! Just beautiful, healthy, stout bass. I was only throwing a small spinnerbait with thin gold willow blades and a purple skirt, along with a bright green spro frog. The top water action was BLOWING MY MIND! I would launch the frog into sunken reed beds and finesse it back and suddenly make a big splash and BOOM! If you have the time, make the trip to St. George. I had the time of my life.
I'm having trouble getting the pics from my phone, so bare with me - I'll have them up soon.
