catching minnows

I've been thinking of trying to pick up some minnows in CJ and bought a minnow trap. I know that we can't use live minnows to fish with in Idaho.[frown] I also see in some fishing catalogs, where there are minnow nets that you can throw out and retrieve, and even a minnow net with a handle like a landing net. I haven't found any info as to whether these nets are legal to use. What say you ?
