Steelhead fishing etiquette question.

"I had a guy dangling his lure in my face and trying to pick a fight with me once. I was too dense to get what he was after. Finally after he threatened to throw me in the river I figured out what he was after. Now I just open carry a pistol any time I'm on the river. Haven't had anyone bother me since. "


I don't "flaunt" my gun. I just wear it. That's it. I've never pulled it, never mentioned it, never even thought about using it, sometimes I don't even load it, but it is AMAZING how the manners of others has improved since I started wearing it........

I've found only one thing will improve the manners of those around me-- RESPECT. I've found two ways to get respect. One is to earn it, by being respectful and polite to those on the river. The other is by wearing my gun. I do both..... and it is amazing how things have improved. There are people on the river who (especially after a drink or two) think they can bully their way around the river and will not respect you no matter how you treat them. The pistol carry brings those guys in check..... That's all."
