This is what I am talking about when it comes to picking winners and losers. People fish for many species and to take bass out of the river systems is not a cure for the salmon/steelhead. Sportsmen vs. Sportsmen doesnt help just causes problems. If we were to actually recover runs then people wouldnt be worrying about sealions at bonn. or bass on the snake. Dams are the biggest problem in the river system. There are a few rivers that have removed dams and we shall see what kind of recovery of those fisheries will allow us to make a better decision to keep the dams or remove them. Im 100% for dam removal. The railroad can pick up the slack or trucking too. That would create some jobs for the trucking industry. Would we be talking about bass if we had 2-3 million fish returning to Idaho? How nice would it be to have such a heathly population that it didnt matter if the fish was clipped and the hatcheries were not needed.
