The myth of the goat curse is that a fan used to bring his goat to the ball park every year. Then one year the Cubs quit allowing him to do so.
He then put a curse on the Cubs saying that as long as goats weren’t allowed at Wrigley Field, the Cubs would not win another World Series.

Since the curse to never win a World Series was placed upon the Chicago Cubs by tavern owner Bill Sianis after he - and his beloved goat - were ejected from Wrigley Field occurred in 1945, well, you see the problem.

Apparently Sianis and his goat were removed from their seats during the World Series against the Detroit Tigers because one of them was, uh, exuding a somewhat odoriferous presence.
