First, never thought that my posting an article would trigger such a debate. Secondly, thanks for keeping it civil, guys, and thus keeping my "job" of moderator an easy one! Finally, I don't fish for salmon typically in Idaho, preferring the silver bright fish of the Olympic Peninsula. However, having taught Idaho history for many years, I have a special affinity to the salmon and its importance in this state....and not only to our Native Americans. It seems to me that we must do everything possible to maintain this important part of our Idaho heritage. The anadromous fish, more than any other species of fish, continues to be an economic boost to so many Idaho communities. Lets hope they are still there for our children's children. Mike
