I applaud the organizers for holding an event to support Down's. One thing you can say for folks who are Down's - is they're just danged cheery! My brother passed away this year after 50 years of the challenges of being Downs. Brought a lot of light and joy to a lot of people. Plus we used to fish with my dad when we were kids.

I'm sorry if the local marina is less than friendly to out of towners or newbies. I'd suggest the organizers share these concerns with the marina owners, and suggest they put away the grumpy hat for a day while your event is on.
