] My favorite trout (char) is the Brook trout. I cannot think of anything better than being on a creek that has some nice beaver dams with a fishing pole, a clear bobber, and about four foot of 2 lb test with a dry fly on the end. I have had so much fun with the little brookies. When ever I think of some of my best fishing trips it always is when I have been catching brookies. They are also the best to eat when fresh in my opinion. Hard to beat. It also seems like when you are catching brook trout you are always in a beautiful setting to enjoy while fishing.
