Has anyone heard of Redmond Reservoir
#11
Well having lived there for 20 years a block away from the lake and owning all the boats I have owned with electronics ,there is one whole that is a 10 foot circumference that is 10 feet at its deepest. The rest of it is shaped like a dish not a bowl but a dish. They only catch fish at the dike on the north east side in the summer and it might be 8 foot deep at the most if all the boards are in. And yes I have seen ice on it ,which the dogs fell through being on the thin ice. But I have never seen an ice fisherman ice fishing it. Yes I went through a couple years when it was 30 below for 7 days at a time in Redmond Utah. That being said yes it is very easy for you to catch a Pike in front of the springs this time of year. The springs are on the sharp turn going towards Hamptons Dairy. You can fish it with 40-50 pound monofilament in stead of steel liter. Or you can choose to use a steel liter too. I have caught a lot of Pike out of there with 10 pound test monofilament. In fact I caught the state record using 14 pound monofilament in Yuba. You can pick your anchovies up at Holly's Pantry in Salina ( a small convenience store) that is all you need. A half an anchovy to catch all you want. In most years February is the best but we aren't having a winter this year so I am thinking the bite could be on as early as January 10th. Most times if you catch a couple that is a good day. Good Luck and Have fun.
