what is your favorite trout to catch?

The biggest difference between trout and char is that trout and salmon have dark spots on a light background, whereas char have light spots on a dark background. There are many many subspecies of both trout and char. I am partial to the char family because I am obsessed with brook trout. I know of several species in the char family besides brook trout including Lake trout, Sunapee Trout, Dolly Varden, Bull Trout, Blueback Trout, Aurora Trout, Kunja Char and Arctic Char.
