I agree. I lived in the Boston area for training for the 7 years before I moved here 13 years ago. I noticed a huge difference in throughout Utah immediately. I spent a lot of time in state forests and parks in Massachusetts and places like Baxter in Maine. I also spent a lot of time in the Green Mountains and White Mountains National Forests in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine as they where as close as many places here in Utah are to me. I can't recall my dog ever finding discarded food around campsites back east. My dog would find wild growing blueberries but that was the extent of food that would attract her while we where out. Utah might be more pristine than Philadelphia but our national forests are more trashed despite having a lot more of them and a lot lighter use overall.
