Last ice season at Rockport, daughter and I were just wrapping up a nice day of ice fishing. It was getting dark so I had put a night bobby lighted bobber on the lines, since we couldn't see the springbobbers moving. Trout hits the line, bobber goes under, fish breaks off. I think sharp ice at the edge of the hole cut the line.
We could see the fish, or the glowing lit bobber anyway, swimming around under the ice. It was hilarious, looked like an orange ghost or something in the water.
Anyway the fish eventually came tearing back through where we had our holes punched, and we both dove an arm down the hole as the glowing orange bobber flew by, and I was able to grab the line. Got both the fish and my night bobby back. [
