late season chuckars?

Well we went out yesterday past simpson springs and put some serious miles on the wheelers looking for the devil birds, no luck. Not even a rabbit! found some great country for chuckars though (I think) and talked, sort of, to a mexican sheep herder that motioned up into the hills when I asked him about the birds.
