Probably irrelevant, but since I read about markers n' such... I raided my wife's fingernail polish (wow, does she waste money on that stuff or what?!) and use it to paint my popper heads. That stuff is absurdly durable and goes on easy. There is some new crap called, "Crackle" or something like that that when it dries, it looks like a muddy flat in a lake bed that has dried up -- you know, with the cracks -- and the color underneath shows through. Awesome effect.

Anyhow, if you're short on markers or ink, try nail polish -- it's $$$.
