There are many different methods to use this time of year.
1. Live Bait which has been working quite well.
2. Top water casting lures also working.
3. Trolling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year with the trout plants on Friday and saturday trolling lures that looked like trout could produce some large fish in the boulder beach and crawdad area.Because i was in a tournament I was swinging for the Home run. I was trying everything in my tackle box. was not getting any love. Just some 2 to 3 pounders.
Then Saturday afternoon when trolling the Beach I put on A shad looking umbrella rig and trolled it in about 70 feet of water. All of a sudden BAM!! the clicker started to scream Fish on! Shut the motor off and begin to fight the fish. After a back and forth battle you can see in the picture who ended up on top.
This fish was not the only nice one caught. There was a 9.6 a 7 and a few 5's and 4's. It was enough for me to get 1st place and big fish for the december tournament.
